Metro North Housing Corp (MNHC) is a nonprofit housing developer providing affordable housing for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in Malden, Medford, Everett and surrounding communities. Founded in 2015, MNHC owns and manages three buildings with 39 units of subsidized affordable housing.
Currently, MNHC three properties are located in Malden; however, we are working to secure another property in Medford that will house individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. MNHC partners with local agencies to provide services for our tenants. We are currently partnering with Housing Families Inc and Justice Resources Institute to provide on-site supportive services, case management, and access to 24 hour on-call emergency support to our tenants.
Our properties are:

54 Eastern Avenue: our newest property opened in the fall 2024 with 14 studio apartments for adults who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness. These units are on the third floor of a mixed-use building developed in partnership with Bread of Life, an anti-hunger nonprofit.
115 Washington: 14 Single Room Occupancy (SRO) units with shared dining/kitchen area, laundry and backyard for individuals previously homeless.

Kaszanek House: 11 Single Room Occupancy (SRO) units with shared kitchen/dining, community/TV room, study room, laundry room, and aback yard for college students who were homeless or at risk of homelessness and enrolled at either Bunker Hill Community College, Roxbury Community College, UMass Boston, or Massachusetts College of Art.
